And now, for a brief moment grace has been shown on us by the Lord our God, Who has left us a remnant to escape and had given us a secure hold in His holy place, that our God may brighten our eyes and give us a little reviving in our bondage.

I woke up this morning wondering as to what would be the topic the Lord would lay in my heart to post today. I usually get the topic a day before or dawn time when I pray, worship, praise and spend time with Jesus. Today was different. I just did not have any topic to write on till late afternoon. When I prayed again, the Lord asked me to open the Bible randomly to any page of the Old Testament. I have to admit, it was exciting. It was indeed a change from the usual way that I was accustomed to hear from the Lord. It’s great to know and see that God’s ways and plans are  unpredictable. Being a believer in Jesus is liberating. The individual that once felt life boring, helpless while in bondage, now set free.

Bondage is: the state of being under the control of a force or influence or abstract power, as defined in: http://www.audioenglish.net/dictionary/bondage.htm . At a stage in our lives we have been in bondage to something. Even as believers we face a phase of being in bondage till we have completed the weaning off process; successfully. The process is both painful and heart wrenching. When we break out of any bondage, a feeling of triumph engulfs us, like we have never experienced before. A new being is born.

The ‘ brief moment of grace’ mentioned in Ezra 9:8, reminds me of the instant happiness, relief one experiences when they quench their thirst. A drop may not be enough, but the feel of water touching the mouth and throat can definitely make one cherish water with a deep gratitude. Whenever we feel like we are burdened, we question God as to the usual why’s and the when’s. We do not see the ‘brief moment of grace’  the Lord shows us to brighten our eyes and build us up. We overlook the grace and that’s when we forget about us having a secure hold in his holy place.

It’s simple! You are in middle of a storm. The storm is so strong that everything around you is shattering, flying, crumbling. All you have is this pillar to hold on too. The twist in this example is, you have glued yourself unto the pillar. No letting go now!                   Being a Christ believer has great perks. You have a tougher, easier, fun, jovial life.

Always remember, the kingdom is the only place that blesses you for every simple growth steps you take and showers you double or more for any bondage you set yourself free from.
