Many at times I get asked on, how does one get blessed in the Holy Spirit. I say, “You ask, it shall be given”. When I meet up with them again, they end up telling me how much they tried and nothing happened. I remind them the anointing is not something one can bargain and buy. “The Holy Spirit is a gift”.Of late, the Lord has been giving me revelation on this matter, for which I am grateful and being obedient, I am obliged to share.

The Lord took me into the B.C era of Moses; Exodus 3:4. The Lord called out to him, “Moses, Moses! “Here am I”, replied Moses. Then, Moses said to God,”Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out ofEgypt? God said, “I will surely be with you; and this shall surely be the sign to you that I have sent you”.After reading chapter 3, all I heard repeatedly was “Surrender”. Not just a day or week, or when you need me the most, but every sec; a lifelong stand you should take, a promise you should make, the only way to receive my complete anointing; “Surrender”. When Moses was called, he never once asked what? who? why? He did say I am not worthy, who am I? The most touching part to me was the assurance God gave him. “I will be with you. This shall be the sign TO YOU! Not anyone else but ‘you’.

Surrendering is the hardest thing for anyone to do. To give in, let go completely.It is easy to sing; all to Jesus I surrender, but to practice it everyday? How to?To do is by remembering at all times; it is all about GOD, there is no “I” only the great “I AM” (verse 14). You should step out of ‘me’ and walk into the, it’s all “I AM’s” holy ground.

Now, you are ready to practice surrendering. You believe you can do it. You say it’s all about God. You give Glory to God. God say, “Give your savings to Joe”. You say, “What? Are you sure? No way is what I am hearing from God. God says, “Jump”. You say, “No way, it’s too deep”. Best one; God says, “You lay hands on that person”. You say, “No way, I don’t know that person, they may think I am nuts”.

To be a complete believer, you will have to do the unbelievable. To do the unbelievable, you have to know its not you who is the doer. You are just the most treasured vessel.  You will have to talk like Jesus, seem over- smart to some, a blessing to many and a lunatic like being; to everyone. A true believer is not one who is just well read in the bible verses, nor an in your face Christian, but one who can identify grace in every area of their life. One who is ready to be taken out from their comfort zone. Ready to serve not; any people, friends, community, group, culture, religion, denomination, fellowship, but just the one and only great “I AM”. There is no space for anyone or anything else when they surrender. There is no, no way! There is only yes, “I AM” way!

Feelings or suggestions don’t exist. When you are upset, it is hard to do what is asked of. When God suggest something you do, it may make you unhappy and you may suggest an alternative. ‘God’ is not negotiable with. He is the “I AM” who knows best when it comes to you. It is easy to say I trust. Indeed you do, but how much? Is it enough to be able to give up everything you own, which you can’t deny is his blessing. If he says you have to, then there is always a reason. That reason is not just for your best, but the only way you can get all that is the best.

Surrendering is like you being, the clay. You, the clay wants to be a musician. The great “I AM” wants to mould you to be a musician. You don’t know yet that he is the one that put the desire in you. You think it’s all you. You struggle to mould yourself into a musician. Then one day, you get fed up with the shape its turning out to be, you call out, “Here I am, break me and mould me into anything you want. Success!  

What is life without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. To me, it would feel like a guitar without strings. You can still use it as a show piece, but no music would ever come from it. Without the anointing , bible verses are just empty, forceful, predictable, prepared words. To be anointed, you have to know the anointer. To know him, you have to “surrender”. You want to be able to move mountains? You have to “surrender”. God wants to be able to tell you “I will surely be with you; and this shall surely be the sign to you that I have sent you”.

 You have to give up, to get a hold on!
