During my prayer time, I never miss a chance to remind myself of the truth; my victory is on the cross. So, on the day of Good Friday, I find it to be really hard to look or feel sad. Truth be told, I get excited. I can’t stop smiling all day like its everyday. While, everyone around me wants to celebrate the day in a sad way; I scream happiness. Love for Jesus sparks up inside of me, and suddenly I break out into a fiery dedication.
To me, the crucifixion of Jesus is the greatest, true-life love narrative ever told. He faced humiliation, torture, criticism because he loved ‘all of mankind’. No one can love ‘all’ you say? Yes, in this day and age, no rational minded person would ever die for individuals who treat them like they did Jesus. That is exactly what sets him apart. He died in the name of love! Unconditional love! The kind of love, we crave to touch, feel, experience everyday! The peace bringing love that makes us whole!
The world can easily comprehend a mother’s sacrificial love to save her child from any tragedy; a man and a woman’s tragically ending love story; but, they find it hard to understand the simple account of a loving God who sends his only begotten son into this cruel world to die, so that whosoever believes in him shall be saved, and all of his creation can have a second chance -on this journey called life! He was love and is love and will always be love, because he died preaching love!
Monuments are made symbolizing human love. Legendary, tragic filled love stories are directed into movies. Some heart wrenching love stories are played out to a live audience in theatrical form. Unfortunately, as human beings we connect to tragic ending. The sad endings always seem to impact us longer than happy ones. We wish happy ending all the while, but secretly know they won’t always happen. It did happen! We had a true sad event which made history, turning out into our victory! We have a Savior who truly cares for us. He rose up; to prove to the world, love always triumphs. He broke all barriers when he defeated hatred. He proved all things are possible when done in love!
My victory is on the cross! I see it everyday. I choose to experience the unceasing love flowing in me through the Holy Spirit. I focus on seeing Christ’s undying love all around me. Ever since knowing Jesus, I see expressed love; I see love in pain; I see love in tragedies; I definitely see passionate love when I look up on the cross. His love phenomenon cannot be copied, nor can it be relived. It is done!
The love of Jesus is different; in a unique way.
There is none like him and will ever be.
He has created a standard no one will ever be able to measure up to.
Stop fighting him; befriend him.
His presence is the only place you will find rest.
It is a promise; an omniloving one!
