Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death………..

Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.- Psalms 23: 4

If I were to make this verse into a movie, this is how the scenes would unfold.

 Scene 1:

A child looking all lost, walking through a dark, frightening, sunless, deep valley. Each step he takes seems like an uphill struggle, full of effort and painful. He keeps moving; slowly, trembling all over. Suddenly, a chill runs down his spine as he steps onto something. He slowly looks down and sees a white, solid piece of some sort. Lifting his head fearfully, he shifts his head right and left. He gasps, as he sees skeletons lying all around; everywhere. Dark shadows of death seem to be hovering all around him. He turns pale, tears streams down his cheeks, he starts to panic. He can feel the chilling fingers of the dark shadows trying to grip his pale skin. He stops, falls onto the floor, crying uncontrollably and shouts out loud’ “Jesus, please help me”!

Have you ever felt so helpless, neglected, pained, lost, unloved, terrified, anxious, aimless, scared.

 Scene 2:

He stops, falls onto the floor, crying uncontrollably and shouts out loud’ “Jesus, please help me”! All of a sudden, strength engulfs him, peace penetrates his heart. He lifts his head from the ground, stunned, he stares straight down. A smile appears on his face. Behold! In front of him lay a rod and a staff .He stands up, light encircles him like the rays of the sun. Shadows get burned just trying to come near him. The rod clears the path he walks. Head held high, off he goes all comforted, enlightened, happy, uplifted, and stronger.

We all go through the valley phase in our lives. Like the lonely, lost child, we cannot walk through the darkness by ourselves. We need someone to hold us and show us light.  At times, in our daily walk of life we feel all alone, by ourselves, trying to make things work.

It is vital to keep a reminder on in every heartbeat, reminding us that Our Savior, Jesus is just a call away. He is forever with us, wanting to take full responsibility of our lives. We just need to hand it over to him.

Learn to relieve yourself of the burdens each day. Put them into a box and hand it over to Jesus; completely.
